Jack Daggett Obituary –

DAGGETT, Jack Aaron Jr.– Was called home by God on October 7, 2002. Born in Sacramento, November 29, 1932. Went to the one room school house in Freeport that was built by his grandfather Neves. Attended McClathy High, served in the Navy and worked for Southern Pacific Railroad before moving to San Jose in the 50’s.While living with his uncle Bill Nevis he would bring his Appaloosa mare to the Steven’s Creek Camp for disabled children. Giving all who wanted, a chance to ride. Worked for Burton and Cluff Roofing, for the county of Santa Clara, Edelweiss Dairy, Santa Clara Creamery, Alhambra Water, Phillips Petroleum and Anderson/Nevis House Movers; eventually buying the company. While he was the owner, he made many unique moves. One of which was the Eagle Cafe on Pier 39 in San Francisco.He made it a point to be active in his children’s lives while they were growing up. Some of the activities were the YMCA Indian Guides, managed and coached Moreland Little League for over 10 years and ran several fund raisers for the schools that his children attended. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, guiding other sportsman and spending time with his family. While in semi-retirement he drove passenger vehicles for Laidlaw and Outreach.Survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Karla; his 4 loving children Ruth, David, John and Lenae; 2 wonderful grandsons Trevor and Justin; his mother Ida J. Robinson; sister, Patricia and her 5 children.Memorial gathering to be held on November 9 from 2 to 5 p.m. at August Boeger Jr. High, 1944 Flint Ave., San Jose.
